Floral Madness, Women's SS13 Trends

When thoughts turn to Spring Summer, pretty perennials are never far from our minds. Just as in nature, spring bursts onto the fashion scene with an explosion of flowers, textures and colours.

Applique florals, beaded blossoms and printed petals in lace, organza and silks, are just the beginnings of the wonderous melting (plant) pot that is one of my favourites of the SS13 trends. Pick a peony-printed day dress or opt for a beautiful bouquet embroider - there really are a multitude of ways to wear florals. Including a nod to the sixties with boxy jackets covered in giant daisies from Simone Rocha and Giambattista Valli.

I do always love a good floral trend, so feminine, so happy. It really is the pinnacle of summer and never fails to cultivate a smile on my face. A favourite designer of mine, Erdem, is the king of the floral piece and a truly regal royal blue dress that I have been obsessed with for the past two seasons is still perfect to wear this spring summer!

So let that happiness grow inside with the thought of florals this season. And with the range of colours, patterns and pieces on show, there's something for everyone, even if just an accent by Alexander McQueen...

Streamlined Stripes, Spring/Summer 2013. Women's Fashion Trends

Sorry for the delay in posting this time, I know it’s been two weeks since my last but I’ve been crazy busy with a shoot coming up next week, and what with London Fashion Week, phew it’s manic! But here’s the next instalment of what to look out for and invest in this season.

This SS13, designers have been straight-shooting when it came to pattern. Stripes were everywhere...from Oscar de la Renta in a fabulous monochrome, chevron gown to the swirly striped chiffon dress and tights from Bora Aksu. This is bold move on from the pastels that were so prominent last Spring/Summer.

There's more great news on this trend too-it's super slimming! We all know the secret, just as well as Marc Jacobs below, that vertical stripes elongate and streamline the body, so double up-wear it top and bottom, for even more pound-dropping power!

Of course if you are partial to a horizontal stripe, then there were an abundance of those on the catwalk too! Blue pared with white is a usual Spring/Summer staple, conjuring thoughts of yachts and sand, beaches and a cool sea breeze, but this beautiful outfit from Haizen Wang has a slightly dressier feel with sleek lines and a cinched in waist. The black accents also draw this outfit away from being too nautical.

Pair a striped piece with another pattern or monochrome piece with a bright colour for an interesting outfit that's bang on trend for SS13! Take inspiration from Dolce and Gabanna - I just love the canary yellow and red!

My favourite high-street pieces are as follows:

Faster, Faster - Kurt Geiger

I hope you enjoyed this post!

Women's Fashion Trends - Spring Summer 2013

It's a white out in the fashion world this Spring Summer 2013. From broderie anglaise to chiffon to lace, white is hot, hot, hot this season.

Wear it head to toe to give a pure look or team with acid bright shoes for a pop of colour that dazzle!

My style tips to really rock this trend would be...layer up different textures in bright white, keep jewellery and make-up to a minimum to keep the look fresh – let the clothes do the talking!

I love the femininity and prettiness that oozes from  this look. Immediately, your mind is drawn to imagery of angels, shining beacons of hope and joy, the way that fashion should be.

Designers have very cleverly opened the doors to a simple season using complex details and sharp silhouettes, which looks especially gorgeous when wholly wearing white.

Just a brief post today as I have a drinks date tonight that I must start getting ready for...now just to decide what to wear! All suggestions welcome!
